The Custom User Field (CUF/UDF) Module allows Bryt users to supplement the standard data stored in the Bryt system by adding custom fields specific to a loan or a contact. Custom User Fields are data fields that are added to the Bryt system to collect and report on almost any type of data, including:
- Text (short text - maximum length 100 characters)
- Paragraph (long text - maximum length 1,000 characters )
- Integer
- Decimal
- Currency
- Date
- Percentage
- Yes/No/None
- Multiple Choice
Custom User Fields are attached to your loans and/or your contacts and can be included in your reporting.
To configure a Custom User Field, Click on "Admin" in the top navigation bar, and select "User Fields" from the options on the left side of the page:
To add a new Custom User Field, click on the "Add User Field" button:
Add the data for your Custom User Field. When you are finished, click "Add Field" to save your new Custom User Field:
Note: Adding new fields will reset the saved loan list grid settings.
- Field Type Name: This is the "title" of your custom user field. This is what will be displayed for the field on the loan or contact record.
- Field Type Description: This is a description of your custom user field. It is primarily used for information only. It is not displayed on the loan or contact record.
- Field Type Index: This allows you to order the way the fields display on the contact or loan record. The lower the number, the higher on the page the field will be displayed. An index of "0" will be first, followed by "1", etc.
- Field Category: This identifies what you want the custom user field to be associated with (loans or contacts).
- Field Data Type: Field types include:
- Text (short text - maximum length 100 characters)
- Paragraph (long text - maximum length 1,000 characters )
- Integer

- Set as Default Value: This allows you to create a default value for the custom user field. The default value will automatically be populated in the custom user field for every record that is created.
Archiving and Deleting a Custom User Field: You can only delete custom user fields that do not have data associated with them. Once you add data to a custom user field, you can only archive the field. This allows us to keep historical data. If you archive a custom user field, it is no longer visible on the loan or contact record. Note: Archiving and Unarchiving CUFs will reset your stored loan list grid arrangement.
Custom User Field location on Contact records: To access the Custom User Field from a Contact record, select the contact you are working with and then select "Details" from the options on the left. To edit the values in the fields, click the "edit" button.
Custom User Field location on Loan records: To access the Custom User Field from a Loan record, select the loan you are working with and then select "Summary" from the options on the left. The Loan Custom User Fields will be located at the bottom of the "Summary" page. To edit the values in the fields, click the "edit" button.
